Fun weekend in Hot Springs

Last week we all went to Hot Springs for the weekend. Pops was super excited because he got a new fishing boat however he didn't get to put it in the water all weekend ;(. The coolest thing happened right when we got there. We were all sitting on the deck when all of a sudden we saw not one but 6 beautiful yellow monarch butterfly. They flew all around us. It was so amazing. I felt Mamie's presence with us during that happy evening on the deck.

Saturday Brit, Jason, Taylor and I met up with Taylor's brother Brian his wife Ashleigh and their sister Ashley at the races. We had a great time visiting and losing money ;)

Sunday was so beautiful. Taylor and I decide to stroll downtown Hot Springs with Burke and the Goose. There were so many people down there. I guess since it was spring break. Burke enjoyed lounging back in his stroller with his feet propped up and watching all of the people pass by.

We spent the evening over at Drew and Ashley's house with Taylor's family. Burke loved the spaghetti. Well he loved to throw it and rub it on his head. He got to see all of his cousins. Jack (Brian and Ashleigh's oldest) surprised me at how much he liked to play with Burke. Burke loved it!!

It was a great weekend

Introducing Mamie's Poppy Plates

As you all know, I am Mamie's mom, and Mamie was my first child. I was pregnant with her from October 2008 to June 25th, 2009 when she was born a sleeping angel (stillborn) two and a half weeks before her due date. Stillbirth and infant death are realities that too many parents face even today. Did you know that each year 1 in 115 babies delivered is stillborn? And 1 in every 102 newborns die before the age of 28 days old? Now, a year after losing Mamie, I have started Mamie's Poppy Plates, my organization providing keepsakes for parents who are not able to take their babies home from the hospital. Because handprints and footprints are something that we cherish as parents of children in Heaven or here on this earth, I wanted to find a beautiful way to preserve such a precious reminder of our babies. Your donation of $13 will provide a plate to bereaved families who are delivering at St. Vincent Hospital. Their baby’s birth stats, hand and footprints will be stampe...

VBS

Burke and Winnie just finished their first Vacation Bible School and they had a blast.  I did as well :)  I got to help in Burkes class which is always really interesting.  There were about 20 3yr olds in there so it was WILD :)  It was a fun 3 days of learning about how God is our light.  We sang "This little light of mine" everyday and Winnie is trying so hard to sing it.  She walks around the house with her little pointer finger up mumbling.  I love it. - Sarah Winnie eating the stickers instead of putting them on her art piece :)
