25 Weeks!

Okay I am 25 weeks as of yesterday.  105 days to go!  AH!!!!!  I don't have a very busy week this week which is good.  I had another 8hr wedding this past Saturday and I was not feeling very good on Sunday.  I didn't get much sleep Saturday night and I think I was just totally exhausted.  I am feeling much better which is good.

I am so excited because this weekend I am having a girls weekend with Alyson and Brooke here at the house.  We had planned on going to Heber but plans changed and we are going to stick around here.  Taylor is heading to Dumas to hang out with some of his friends.  I am glad he is getting to do that.  He doesn't get to see his high school friends very much.  I know they will have a lot to catch up on.  I think we girls will veg most of the weekend.  I would love to go to some old antique places in Benton to look for an old chandelier for Mamie's room.  I plan on finding a cool cheap one, having it rewired and painting it.  We will see:)

Yesterday was a beautiful day.  I worked for a few hours and then put on my short and tank and sat in the sun for a while.  Today isn't so pretty.  LOL as I type this the sun is starting to peak out.  Maybe it will end up being another beautiful day.   Amanda is coming in so we will be working.

I have a doctors appointment next week.  We will have another ultrasound which a am super excited about and then they will also be testing my blood.  I think they said I would be there for 2hrs.  I bet it will go by pretty fast.  Jyl, text me the other day and wants us to come in so she can do another ultrasound and a 4D ultrasound.  I think we are going to go around 30 weeks and I have asked Cissy, Ken, Mom, Dad, Brit and Jason if they want to come and see her.  I wish Taylor's siblings could come but that might be a little hard since they all live in St. Louis.  We will have a DVD that we can show everyone.  I can't wait for that one.

Alyson and Brooke have been busy trying to get the baby shower together.  Last I heard it is going to be on the evening of June 5th.  I didn't have any Saturdays and only 1 Sunday open.  Can you believe that.  So it is going to be on a Friday night.   Now I have to get on my list :)  YEA so fun!

Oh also, Annie (Taylor's partner) and her husband gave us their 2 huge Koi and 2 smaller goldfish on Sunday.  We decided to put them in the top pond so we could see them better.  Yesterday I couldn't find one of the Koi so I walked down the stairs and saw that it was in in the larger second pond.  I called Taylor and asked him why he split them up.  I thought they were sad.  He said he didn't.....  Yall, we are not really sure how that big of a fish cleared this landing into the the drain.  There is a tube that takes the water down to the larger pond and then it recycles back up and down again.  That fish took a wild ride down the tube to the larger pond.  We have a mini Wild River Country here for our fish. LOL  I decided to moved him back with his friends.  Last night Taylor was feeding them and the 2 goldfish headed down the slide to the larger pond.  HA!!!  Anyway we think they like it here.  Oh and Gus almost fell head first in the pond yesterday trying to get the fish food.  What a fatty!

Okay I better go hop in the shower before Amanda gets here.

Hello, Sarah!

Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

24 Weeks

I am behind again on blogging.  Last week I was 24 weeks.  6 MONTHS!  I couldn't believe it when someone was asking me how far along I was and I said 24 weeks and they said "So like 6 months."  The weeks are flying by.  I shot an 8 hr wedding that past Saturday in Hot Springs.  We rolled into Little Rock around 1:30am.  I was so tired when I crawled into bed but not as tired as I thought I would be.  The next morning I woke up around 9:30 and was ready to roll.  Taylor and I eat a late breakfast and then headed out to Good Earth to get some mulch for the flower beds.  It was such a beautiful day.  Mom and Dad ended up coming over to help us.  We bought a bunch of plants that were 50% off and so we wanted to get them in the ground.  The yard looks SO good.  I will have to take a picture of it.  We have HUGE dogwoods in the back that have just bloomed and they are so beautiful.  I love Spring.

Last week was just a normal busy work week.  I have hired a new girl Amanda to help me in the office and she is amazing.  She is such a hard worker and wants to learn.  I wanted to get someone to help and on their feet before Mamie comes so I can have more time with my girl than sitting in front of the computer.  :)

Mamie, you daddy almost had a wreck last Thursday when he could see you kicking in my belly from across the car.  You have become so active in there.  When we got to where we were going he announced it to the whole group.  He is so proud!  You also move a lot when Silas is around and talking.  You guys are going to be the best of friends.

Pibby finished the changing table and it looks awesome.  Now all we have to do is find a crib.  I still want to hold off and see if the metal bed comes in.  I also found some fabrics for the drapes and the cushion that I am going to have made for my Aunt Mamie's rocking chair that  Mom is going to let us barrow.  :)

That is about it.  I will have Brit take a picture of my belly this week.  It is getting big :)

Here is what baby is doing at 24 weeks

Hello, Sarah!

Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but hisbody is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

Kicking Baby: 23 Weeks!

We had a very nice and restful weekend. I start back with weddings this coming weekend so it was nice to have nothing to do but chill with Taylor. Saturday I did go with Mom and Brit to Duck Duck Goose. Let me just start from the beginning. On Friday Mom came over to finish painting Mamie's changing table. It looks really good by the way. After she finished we decided to get out and run a few errands. I really needed to find me some black pants to wear to my weddings along with some cute but comfortable shoes. I found 2 pair of shoes. They are so cute and I don't think I will ever take them off. I also found a couple shirts and a pair of black pants at Kohl's. I never shop a Kohl's. Carrie from our Sunday school class told me to check in every once in a while because they have random stuff that comes in. One shirt was on sale for $7. You can't beat that! Well Britney didn't really understand why I bought more maternity clothes since I have a box full of hers to wear. When I got home I pulled out the box and started trying on. LOL I don't know WHAT we were thinking. We have never been able to wear the same size tops when we are not prego so why would it be different when we were :) Yall I was cracking up. NONE of the tops fit me. Brit is so petite and not as....ah how can I say this..... busty as me :) By the time I finished folding up all of her clothes and placing them back into the box I was a little depressed. All of her cute clothes I have to give back. SHOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!! Well back to Duck Duck Goose. They had a maternity section. I bought a few things that don't even look like they have even been worn. That made me super happy. Once I got home Brit and I did some shopping on Old Navy.com and found me some more threads. I feel much better :) Saturday night Taylor and I were snuggled up on the couch and Mamie was just kicking away. She is getting very active in there. I grabbed Taylor's hand and said "Feel this! I know you are going to be able to feel her this time!" It was the first time Mamie that your Daddy felt you kick. He was very excited! I have been feeling you for about 3 weeks now and I couldn't wait for your Dad to as well. My belly is really getting out there. I will take a picture this week and post it. It is really crazy seeing your body change like it does ;) Here is what baby center is saying today: How your baby's growing: Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb. Hope everyone had a great Monday! I hope the sun comes out soon. -Sarah

22 Weeks!

I am 22 weeks as of Monday. I had my doctors appointment that I was suppose to have last week on Monday as well. Everything went great. I have gained some lbs. but we won't talk about that. Mamie you can look in my prego planner if you are really interested. I'll be sure to keep it for you ;) So this past weekend we went on a church retreat with our Sunday school class to the good ole town of Russellville. It was so nice to get away with good friends and veg out. We stayed at this really neat place on Lake Dardanelle. They cooked really good food and man did we eat alot:0 I felt like I needed to run 20 miles when I got home. Not everyone from the class got to come. A few of the couples that are really involved in the class just had babies so they decided to stay home and not keep us all up. :) Others had to work and we missed them all. We have such an amazing group of people in our class. I feel we can call on any of them for anything. When Brit was pregnant with Silas I think there were 8 other girls prego at the same time. And there were a lot of boys born in that group. There is a new round of us pregnant. I think right before November there were 8 or 9 of us. We have had a new baby born almost every month. Taylor and I are the last ones as of now. I won't be surprised if someone turns up pregnant soon. There have been 2 boys and 2 girls born so far. Anyway I think it is going to be so fun for all of our children to group up together. Sunday when we got home and checked the mail I had a package. WEEEEEE I love getting packages in the mail. So fun! I started squealing when I pulled out a hot pink bow and white ruffled bloomers/diaper cover with Mamie in hot pink on the bottom. This is our first gift with her name on it. AH, I love it. Jayme, Carter and their new baby girl Ellie sent those to us. Thanks so much guys. I can't wait for her to get here so I can put them on. The bow might not work for a while if Mamie is bald like Taylor and I both were. Who knows she might surprise us with head full of hair. LOL Here is what baby center send us this week. Hello, Sarah! At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily. >> Read more about this week

21 Weeks

We have another appointment on Thursday with Dr. Sellers to go over our ultrasound that we had with the specialist last week. I bet it will be a short appointment. I bought more clothes for Mamie at the other consignment thing Brit and I went to on Sunday. She is going to be so cute in these sweet clothes. I am loving some smocked dresses. It reminds me of what Mom use to dress us in. So I don't have much to tell today. Baby Center sent us our 21 week update yesterday. Hello, Sarah! Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot. You may soon feel like she's practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to her activity as you get to know her better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now, and if you're having a girl, her vagina has begun to form as well. >> Read more about this week Oh how could I almost forget. A friend from college took pictures of her tummy every couple of weeks and I thought it was so cool to see how much she grew. Here is my 15 week and 21 week belly :) 15 Weeks 21 Weeks

Catching up: 20 Weeks

I was 20 weeks last week. Half way there. I know I say this every time but man this is flying by. I can't imagine how fast it is going to go once wedding season kicks in. So there have been 2 huge consignment shows this past week. Brit and I found some adorable dresses and onsies for Mamie. This girl has more clothes than her momma now :) Friday Ashley and Dustin came to stay with us and they brought us another sweet little book. "On the Night You Were Born" by Nancy Tillman. Talk about shedding some tears. Ah it is so sweet. Thanks guys, you have been so thoughtful. I can't wait to read it to her. Saturday morning we headed to Memphis to go to a Grizzlies game with a group of friends. The 4 of us met up with Stuart and Alyson for some amazingly bad for you food at Gus's Fried Chicken. It was so good. Taylor and I have been watching "Man Vs. Food" on the travel channel and he ate there on one of his episodes. Funny thing that we are watching a food channel while I am pregnant. :) After lunch we headed out into the blizzard to do a little shopping. We girls that is :) Allison took us to Pottery Barn outlet where we found this adorable chair and duck for Mamie's room. I can't wait to get a cushion made for it. We had a blast in Memphis. It was so great hanging out with everyone. Mamie loves the loud music at the game. She would kick so hard. I am pretty sure she was breaking it down in my stomach. She is going to be a dancer like her Momma ;) So here is what baby center sent us this past week about Mamie. She is getting big. Hello, Sarah! You're at the halfway mark — congratulations! Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (The way your baby is measured changes now.) He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (although some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).
