Brit, Carrie and I met up at the park last week so all the kids could play. We decided to take them to an early dinner at Big Orange Burger's . If you haven't eaten there you have to go. It is SOooooooo yummy. The kid's had a blast.
I had a busy afternoon with Burke and Abe. It amazes me how fast Burke has grown and can so hang with Abe now. He thinks he is such a big boy. They had fun banging on the window at Gus, playing with all the toys and Meredith you will love this. Abe thought he was super cool in his Miller hat. It was a good day.
Every holiday is a little bittersweet for Taylor and I. Not having Mamie here to do all the things a little 2 1/2 year old should be doing makes us sad but we are also so blessed and thankful to have Burke. He has brought us so much joy and that brings that sweet back into our lives. Since Mamie passed away we have done a low key Easter lunch at our house and let whatever kiddo's are here play in her garden. It makes us feel like she is involved on such a sweet and glorious day. This weekend we were super excited to take Burke down to see the Easter Bunny. Our church has a huge egg hunt at Allsop Park every year. There were kids everywhere and we got to visit with lots of good friends. Burke wasn't too sure about the Easter Bunny but he didn't cry. :) YEA Burke!
Sunday morning we met up with the Spees family for the sunrise service down by the river. It was a lovely service and the music was beautiful. When we got home we let Burke have his "Easter basket" :) He was really into the plastic eggs. He kept biting half of the egg and holding it in his mouth. It covered his nose like a beak. He crawled all over the place like that. Sunday afternoon the family came over for lunch. It was a wonderful relaxing day, minus the moment when Burke got his finger shut in the door. It stressed Taylor and I out so bad. He was so upset and we couldn't get him to calm down. Poor little guy. We thought at first his finger was broken. After some quiet time and some mommy love he was all better. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter full of love and family.
Burke's Easter Basket :)
His Aunt Patty sent him this singing chicken. She sings "Whoop There It Is" and lays eggs. Thanks Aunt Patty for such a fun Easter surprise.
I do better at taking other kids pictures :)
Burke loves this singing microphone so much. Last night he sat in the kitchen door forever playing and singing into it. Sweet boy!
