River weekend

This past weekend Taylor and I loaded Gus up Friday afternoon and headed up to Allison, AR. for a fun and relaxing weekend at the river. Our Sunday school class splits up in small groups and our group decided to get away for the weekend. The weather was amazing and we had a blast. There were 5 couples and all but one brought their pups. It was pretty interesting having a wiemie, lab, pug and bull dog all in the cabin together. They all got along really well which surprised us all. On Saturday while some of they guys went fishing the rest of us headed into Mountain View to check out the Bean Festival. W.O.W. was that interesting. :) It was such a fun weekend and I am so glad we got away with new friends. - Sarah I took Gus out Saturday morning in this field to run and play. I took these pictures below with my phone. Yummy CORNDOGS at the Bean Festival!!!!!! Yes that man is riding on a toilet. This is Rascal And here is Priscilla (Gus REALLY likes her) And I didn't ge

A message sent from Brit

Tonight after prayers Silas said- mommy, do you fink God could ask Mamie a question? Jason and I both said-- sure! What do you want to ask Mamie? Silas says- about airplanes. So, I told him to close his eyes and pray and ask God to please ask Mamie a question. He closed his eyes and sat there, do I said- Dear God, Silas has a question he would like for you to ask Mamie. And then Silas said so quietly something about airplanes that I couldn't hear and we said- amen. He always remembers...

16 months

Taylor and I went to visit Mamie's grave the other day. I was so happy when we arrived and saw that the headstone had been moved. I had a huge sigh of relief. Where it's placed now makes me feel so much better. She will be in the middle of my parents and Taylor and I. That is exactly where she needs to be. We had a pretty good day. The weather was so lovely and it was so nice spending it with my sweet husband. Britney and I decorated her wreath with Fall leaves. Isn't it beautiful. We just realized a few months back that one of my new mommy friends that lost her baby 7 years ago is buried very close to Mamie. Her birthday was on the 24th so we went by to visit her as well. It makes me feel good to know our sweet girls are buried so close to each other.

Time is flying by

I can't believe we are in the middle of October. Where in the world are the days going? Everything has been going pretty good around here. I have been super busy with work and Mamie's Poppy Plates . We had our second board meeting last night and were in a trade show a few weeks ago. We are getting such a great response. The garden is blooming again and it is so beautiful. Taylor and I are planning on picking leaves up soon and I will take some pictures to share with you guys. Dad and I met with the man down at the cemetery and got everything changed around. I can't even begin to tell you how much better I feel. He told us that the headstone should be moved by this Friday unless there is a funeral. I am keeping my fingers crossed. While we were down there Mamie's little wind chime was going crazy. :) So many people have been asking me about where Taylor and I are with this whole trying to get pregnant thing... well all I can say is that we are still taki

Painting Day

Firefly is so awesome. The initial idea was that our plates would all be black and white. I wasn't satisfied with that, as I wanted these families to have a more finished, personalized product. We decided a splash of color would be really nice. Mom, Britney and I went by and painted a couple of plates last week. Donations pay for the plates and the family gets to pick a wording paint color and rim color. If they want more, Firefly will take care of that for an additional charge unless the parents or a family member wants to paint the plate themselves. This is going to be one of my sample plates to show families what else can be done to the plate. This family decided they wanted the poppy flowers painted above their precious twin babies' footprints. I know it is going to be beautiful.

Remembrance Day

Today is Remembrance Day. It's a day that we light a candle as we remember Mamie and so many other babies of friends who are joyfully playing in heaven. Please light a candle in remembrance of those we love and lost way too soon. Here is the official site of Pregnancy Loss and Remembrance Day. http://www.october15th.com/ I noticed another mom who lost a child put one of my favorite poems on her blog today. I have shared it before and would like to again. Go ahead and mention my child, The one that died, you know. Don't worry about hurting me further. The depth of my pain doesn't show. Don't worry about making me cry. I'm already crying inside. Help me to heal by releasing The tears that I try to hide. I'm hurt when you just keep silent, Pretending she didn't exist. I'd rather you mention my child, Knowing that she has been missed. You asked me how I was doing. I say "pretty good" or "fine". But healing is something ongoing I feel

Good Morning

I had a pretty good day yesterday. Taylor, Gus and I took dad's jeep out. It was perfect weather. We went down to the cemetery to visit Mamie. I got really upset about where they placed the headstone. It is too far from where she is actually buried. I feel like I am being a crazy mom by I want it moved. Taylor and I talked to my parents last night and I couldn't hold the tears in. I want Mamie to be in between the 4 of us. Dad and mom were very understanding and we are going to visit with the cemetery and have my parents plots moved to the other side of Taylor and I and the headstone moved. My stomach was in knots thinking about it but after our discussion I had a huge feeling of relief. I brought home her wreath and am going to redo it for the fall as well. I miss that sweet baby so much I can hardly stand it. Last Tuesday we got a call about a friend that I went to high school with that lost her baby at 20 weeks. She had gone in for her big ultrasound when they
