16 Weeks!

We had a great weekend this past weekend. Taylor and I went to the races with some friends and I won $105 dollars on a 2 dollar bet. YAHOO! Isn't that fun! We also have counted up all of the change we have been saving up. Once we found out we were pregnant we said this change will be for Poppy Seed. We have about $300 in change. I am so excited. We might us it for something in her room. We haven't decided yet. Brit and I looked at baby bedding last night and I think I found what I want. Is so cute and is kind of retro 70's. I know yall are all probably scratching your heads right now trying to think of what would be cute for a baby bed that is retro 70's but just wait. Trust me :) it is going to be super cute. We also have a name for our little girl (which most of you already know, since we have had both our boy and girl names picked out WAY before we were pregnant) drum roll please :)...... no just kidding we are naming our sweet baby girl Mamie Kather

It's A GIRL!!!!!

Jyl was so nice to do a very cool ultrasound on us today. She taped the whole thing and gave us a dvd to take home. It had been so fun showing the fam. what our little girl did. :) She was kicking away and at one point she lifted her little arm up and waved at us. Well I mean I am sure she wasn't waving at us but it sure was cute. Everyone kept telling us that they thought for sure it was going to be a girl. Taylor and I thought for sure boy. I think because of that intellgender test we took. LOL! We are just so excited and can't wait to get started on the nursery. We have decided to wait till my next doctors appointment which is Feb 5th to start buying and painting :) I will have another ultra sound that day. :) Can't wait! Tonight after bible study Britney and I stopped by the Children's Store and I did buy her some adorable shoes and a hat for the winter. It only cost $12..... and so the spending begins :) -Sarah I will post some ulta sound pics lat

15 Weeks

I am 15 weeks today and feeling great. We find out the sex of our little Poppy Seed this week and I can't wait. Here is what baby is doing this week. Hello, Sarah! Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam.

Just told the world :)

I made the big announcement today on my photography blog that we are expecting in July. I am so relieved to have that out in the open. I have received tons of comments which has been super fun to hear from everyone. -Sarah

I NEED Caffine

Today is Brit and my day to work in the office and get business stuff done. :) I had a meeting at 11 so we both headed out to run some errands together. By the time we were on our way home we both were sitting slumped down in our seats yawning our little heads off. I thought I was going to pass out right there behind the steering wheel. When we got back to the house Brit decided to make her a yummy hot cup of coffee out of my new single gourmet cup coffee maker Tay got me for Christmas. We discussed that it might be okay for me to have just one cup :) But Brit suggested that I call my doctor first. Surprise surprise I had to leave a message. I mean all I wanted was a cup of coffee to get me back on my feet. Well the day went by and the phone rang plenty of times but never was it my nurse. 6:30pm I am sitting by the fire all snuggled up in a blanket when the phone rings. It was Dr. Sellers! I thought that was super nice that he called me back and about a cup of coffee and

14 Weeks

I finished my first trimester YAHOO! Feeling good and back to eating and I mean eating a lot. I swear I am ALWAYs hungry. Here is what baby center said about our growing Poppy Seed. Hello, Sarah! Welcome to the second trimester! This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. I also wanted to share a picture of me at Christmas. Poppy Seed totally racked up on some onesies. It was so fun opening a few gifts for the bab

Second Doctors Appointment

I had my second doctors appointment today and I went by myself. I really didn't see any need in Taylor getting off work for another appointment since I will for sure want him at my 18 week appointment. As soon as I saw my nurse I just started jabbering away. I don't know what gets into me when I get there. I get so excited and can't shut up. :) I had lost 2lb. WHAT!!!! Oh yes I had lost 2 pounds. I guess it was from me being sick and not wanting to eat much. They told me that I am fine and will for sure start putting on wait soon. WHOOPIE! I told my nurse about me taking the intelligender test and she had never heard of it. As soon as my doctor walked in he started asking me all about it. I also told him about the Draino test that Jayna's mom had told us about. Did I discuss this in earlier post? I can't remember..... Anyway he started writing it all down. He is so funny....see he then told me that his wife was 2 weeks behind me and he might ne

13 Weeks

I am 13 weeks today.  I am almost through with my first trimester.  I have my second appointment on Thursday and I am excited to see what he says.   This past weekend I shot a 10 hour wedding.  I did good all day and night.  Now the next day I totally felt like death.  I slept most of the day trying to catch up.  Taylor rented a few movies and we vegged on the couch last night which was nice.  While at my wedding I found out the brides sister, whom I photographed her wedding last year is also prego and due about a week before me.  I am so excited for them.  We had fun talking about the pregnant stuff we pregnant women talk about :)   Here is what Poppy Seed is doing this week.  Hope everyone had a great day. -Sarah Hello, Sarah! Fingerprints have formed on  your baby's tiny fingertips , her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a gi
