12 Week!

So I am 12 weeks today.  YEA!  We are moving right along.  It is so funny because I really have been feeling pretty good so far minus a little sickness here and there but nothing really to complain about.  My energy level has been the same.  I just have been going to bed around 9ish every night but that is it.  Well, starting Saturday morning I woke up SO nauseated.  I mean I felt horrible.  Jayna and Matthew were here staying with us and she thankfully had some medicine that her doctor said would be safe for us prego chicks to take.  I took part of the pill right then and started feeling better.  Taylor and I headed to Hot Springs for me to shoot a wedding.  I was so tired when we got there so as soon as we checked in to the hotel I took about a 45 minute power nap before Ashley and I headed out for an 8 hour shift :)  All night I kept feeling nausiated and I even woke up 3 times thinking I was going to throw up.  I thought surely this would go away but I have been felling that way ever since.  I have been in my comfy clothes all day today which has been nice.  Britney came up after lunch and we went thought my closet and got everything organized.  Mom, Grandmamma and Silas just left.  They helped me clean up all of my Christmas decorations.  What a sweet family I have. ;)

Anyway enough about how bad I have been feeling.  While the Weber's were in town they found out at their ultra sound that they are having a little boy.  We are So excited for them.  As soon as Jayna got here we jumped in the car to go look at some stores.  At one of the stores I got talked into buying the Intelli-Gender test.  Jayna's mom had also told us that she had heard that if you pee in a glass bowl and stir in 2 spoons of crystal drain-o you can figure out the sex of the baby.  So we stopped by Home Depot to find some crystal drain-o.   The boys were super excited when we got home and told them that we had a little experiment that involved our pee and drain-o.  So after 2 times of trying the drain-o we never really figured anything out.  The first time ours looked different.  Mine was more amber color and Jayna's was more blue.  The second time they looked the same.

The next morning I got to try the $40 store bought Intelli-Gender.  It came back that we are having a boy.  I am so anxious now to really find out what the sex of the  baby is.  Only 4 more weeks :)  YAHOO!!!!!  www.intelligender.com

Here is what baby is doing this week.

How your baby's growing:

The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.

Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an

Hope everyone had a great day.

Our first baby book

We have been in Hot Springs for me to shoot a wedding this weekend.
Ashley and Dustin, two of our very best friends came to hang out.
Ashley shot the wedding with me and the boys... Well they played ping
pong all night at some hole in the wall bar.

Dustin and Ashley gave us our first baby book and it is adorable.
They are so sweet. Thanks guys!

11 Weeks!

We are 11 weeks today!  The weeks seem to be flying by.  Yesterday we headed down to Dumas for Cooper, Hayden, and Brayden's first birthday party.  It was a lot of fun.  Cooper and Brayden dug right into their cakes.  Hayden on the other hand was just like a little girl and was very delicate with hers.  They got some really great presents.  Taylor and I had cake plates made for each of them with their name on it.  I thought that would be fun to get out every birthday.  Their own little special plate ;)

About a week ago I went over to one of my favorite clients house to photograph her little boy Breck and their new baby Presley.  Jibbie has been using me for many years now.  She is such a sweet person and it has been so great getting to know she and her children.  She called me the other day to tell me I could barrow ALL of her maternity clothes.  OMG!  Was I excited.  Yesterday Taylor and I stopped by the house to pick up 3 large bags full of clothes.  It has been so fun looking through them all.  They are all so cute!   There is a black tshirt that says, Due in July!  I can't wait to wear that one :)  Thanks Jibbie for the books and the clothes.  That was so nice of you!

Here is what Poppy Seed is doing this week.  Yall be sure to vote for what you think the sex of the baby will be.  Only 7 more weeks before we find out.

Your pregnancy: 11 weeks

How your baby's growing:

Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden.

She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming.

See what your baby looks like this week.

Deviled Eggs!

Okay this is so sad. I was watching the Biggest Loser on a commercial
I switched over and saw I think Top Chef talking about deviled eggs.
I had to pause the tv and head in the kitchen to make me some deviled
eggs. I mean... is this a joke... right in the middle of the BIGGEST
LOSER. LOL! Anyway, they are in the frig getting cold and I can't
wait to have one. Taylor said I don't need to start this craving
weird foods at night thing because he of coarse is going to have to
eat with me :) Jayna, Matthew might not be the only hubby that gains
wait during our pregnancy.

10 Weeks

We are 10 weeks today.  :)  It has been a busy day.  Brit and I put the deadline for print orders for today.  I feel like I have been on the phone or on email all day with clients.  Taylor and I are snuggled up by a fire listening to the sleet fall outside.  Why can't we just get snow?
Below is what our baby is doing this week.

How your baby's growing:

Though he's barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature.

He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy.

If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.

In other developments: Your baby's limbs can bend now. His hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his heart, and his feet may be long enough to meet in front of his body. The outline of his spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Your baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his developing brain and sits very high on his head, which measures half the length of his body. From crown to rump, he's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your baby will again double in size — to nearly 3 inches.

The picture below shows the size of the baby compared to a quarter.  Pretty crazy!

1st Doctors Appointment

This morning I woke up and called the doctor to make sure everything was good for our appointment this afternoon. They told me for some reason I was not in the system. I about had a cow. They had sent me all the paper work and I even had a chart number, which they looked up and some other girl had been given that number. They told me I could come in on Monday to see the doctor I wanted to see. I told them NO WAY! I was coming today. Who could I see! My appointment got changed to 2:15 and was with Dr. Sellers. They told me I probably wouldn't get an ultrasound since the tech was out. I decided that I was not going to leave that office till they did some kind of ultrasound on me. I didn't need them to tell me I was pregnant. I already knew that :) Taylor met me at the doctors office. I was so anxious I could barely sit still while we waited. We had a great visit with the nurse and Dr. Sellers. Everything looked good. He was so nice and did not make me feel rushed at all. I told him about the mix up this morning and that I was suppose to see a different doctor. I told him though that he was passing my test and if he really wanted to win us over he could by doing an ultrasound. I was so happy when he said he had already planned on doing on :) Seeing the baby was truly amazing. He measured the baby to be 9 weeks 3 day. Which put me one day ahead. We got to see and hear the heart beat. It was so cool. Neither Taylor or I could say much. So my report is everything looks good and the baby is growing away :) My next appointment is in a month and then he said we would find out the sex of the baby on our 18th week. We can not wait! Taylor and I both walked out without the ultrasound pictures so I will have to post them later after I go back and pick them up. We are such ding dongs. :) - Sarah

9 Weeks!

So we are 9 weeks today! YEA! Baby Center sent me my update. Poppy Seed is just growing away. Here is what they had to say. Your new resident is nearly an inch long — about the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Our first doctor's appointment is on Thursday. We cannot wait. -Sarah

Back from NYC!

We had a lot of fun in NY. We did ALOT of walking around the city and it was FREEZING cold. Friday after I meet Taylor at the airport we went to the hotel to check in. We dropped our bags and headed to Carnegie Deli for one of their famous sandwiches. We knew they must be good when we got there and the line was out the door. Yall wouldn't believe how big out sandwiches were. It was amazing and I totally forgot to get a picture of them. After our late lunch we headed out to walk on the streets. We ended up walking to Time Square. People where everywhere. And the smells were totally getting to me. We decided to get back to our hotel in time to rest a bit before we headed out for the Lion King. As soon as we walked in the door I crashed on the bed. I felt SO sick. It was really bad. I fell asleep for about an hour and then somehow managed to get dressed to go to the play. I was so mad that I was sick. The Lion King was absolutely amazing. If any of you go to NY you have to go see it. The costumes are so cool. It truly was one of my favorite that I have seen. Saturday I woke up still sick. Taylor started searching for a Babies R Us to go grab some preggie pops. I really wasn't sure if they would work by they really helped with my nausea. We decided to try out the subway and head down to Wall Street. We walked around that area for the morning and saw where the World Trade Center use to be. We then caught a cab to Little Italy for some YUMMY pizza from Roy's Famous Pizza. Man was it good. I for sure had my appetite back :) Saturday night Taylor took me to the Palm for a nice dinner. It was a really neat place. There were cartoon drawings of famous people all over the walls. Supposedly back when the place opened cartoonist would come to eat but couldn't afford to pay so they did a trade for drawing on the walls. Pretty cool! We decided to walk our dinner of and so we walked back to the hotel. It started snowing halfway through our walk. It was so romantic. Everyone was really excited because that was the first snow for them. I hoped to wake the next morning to a winter wonderland but that didn't happen at all. We had a great time, oh we did go see the huge tree in Rockefeller Plaza and went to a few maternity stores. I don't think I will ever want to go back during the Christmas season. It was an absolute mad house. Here are some pics we took on the trip. -Sarah

New York, NewYork

I just landed and am waiting for Taylor to meet me at the ariport so
we can drive into the city. The flight was okay just really small and
FULL of grey hairs. They were all coming to NY together. They were
all so excited and really cute.

I am feeling okay this morning. I think I for sure need to get some
of those prego pops to help with the nausia. Tabitha McNulty said
they are the best thing ever to settle your stomach.

I can't wait to see Tay. He has been gone all week. We are going to
go see the Lion King tonight and then he got us reservations at the
Palm resturante for tomorrow night. I think we are going to have so
much fun.

Brit helped me pick out my clothes for the weekend. There are already
some things I am going to have to put away because they are a little
too tight in the bust ;). I can't even imagine what size these girls
are going to be when Poppy Seed comes. It totally cracks me up.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great weekend. I will post later.
Blogger let us email our post so I am emailing from my phone. Pretty
cool.
Okay bye!

Week 8

We had a great Thanksgiving here at the house.  It was so fun hosting our first Thanksgiving.  Mom, Dad, Brit, Jason, Silas, Cosy, and Maddie came over.  We had tons of food and it was so yummy.  Everyone just vegged here all day.  The boys of course watched football ALL day and night :)  It was so fun and relaxing.  Friday was game day.  We met Drew and Ashley over at Drew's dads house for more turkey dinner and visiting.  Taylor and I were so excited to see the twins.  They looked so adorable in their matching red outfits.  Drew and Taylor went to the game and use girls headed over to our house to play with the babies.  It was a very exciting game and WOO HOO we beat LSU!!!  The last part of the game was so exciting.  I kind of was sad I didn't go until the  boys called and told us how cold it was.  We all decided to go eat sushi and then head down to the Rev Room to see Boom Kinetic.  I was excited I could go since no one can smoke in there.  It was fun seeing people.  Zach and his wife I found out are prego and due in May.  I swear everyone is pregnant right now :)  It is so fun.

Saturday was a pretty lazy day for me.  I wasn't feeling to well and was super tired from staying out the night before.  I pretty much took naps and sat by the fire.  Oh I did take pictures of Hayden and Cooper in the yard.  They turned out so cute.

So we are 8 weeks :)  I can't believe it.  Taylor and I were reading out of our pregnancy book which we do every week to see what our Poppy Seed is doing.  It amazes me every week what I read.  Here is what baby center sent.

New this week: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his "tail" is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby —about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can't feel it.

Taylor left for New Jersey yesterday and I will meet him there on Friday.  I can't wait.  We are going to spend the weekend in New York.  I will post some pictures when we get back.

Another fun thing out found out.  Katy Breen Robertson text me the other night and she and David are also due in July.  How fun is that!

Hope everyone is having a good hump day.

7 Weeks

Picture of your developing baby

Well, I am 7 weeks today.  I just got home from taking Jack, Brayden, Brian and Ashleigh's Christmas pictures.  We had a lot of fun out in the leaves.  It was so good to see them and visit for a little while.  Hopefully we will have more time to hang out on Friday at the game :)  I just got my baby center email about what Poppy Seed is going this week.  It truly is amazing what that tiny little thing is doing right now.  It is measuring at about a half inch long.  Tiny little thing :)  They compare it to a blueberry!

There are some girls getting together tonight over at my friends Lauren's house.  I have been debating if I should go or not.  Taylor and I talked it over and I think I am going to go and going to announce the great news tonight.  I mean why not :)  I am a little nervous.  I guess it is that excited nervousness.... I will let you all know how it goes.

Here is what baby center said today....

Hello, Sarah!

The big news this week: Hands and feet are emerging from developing arms and legs — although they look more like paddles at this point than the tiny, pudgy extremities you're daydreaming about holding and tickling. Technically, your baby is still considered an embryo and has something of a small tail, which is an extension of her tailbone. The tail will disappear within a few weeks, but that's the only thing getting smaller. Your baby has doubled in size since last week and now measures half an inch long, about the size of a blueberry.

A Horrible Day!

Yesterday was horrible. Like I said in my post on Sunday evening.
Taylor started throwing up about every 30min. up until around
midnight. Around 2am I woke up sick as a dog and started running to
the bathroom about every hour to throw up. This kept on until around
8am and then started back up again at noonish. We were so pitiful. I
did not get out of bed the whole day unless it was to go to the
bathroom. Britney was so sweet to run to the store and get us some
apple sauce and gatorade and leave it at our front door. We both
woke up this morning feeling fine. My lower back is a little achy but
that is about it! I am so glad we are done with this stomach bug. I
hope it never comes back.

Busy Week

I have had a very busy week this week with work. I am glad I am
staying busy so I don't have time to think too much about how long it
is going to be till Poppy Seed gets here. Taylor and I talk about it
every day! We still just can't believe it. Yesterday Britney and
Maddie drove to Cabot with me for a shoot. On the way back we were
talking about the baby. Maddie thinks that the baby will be a girl
and have a little bit of brown hair when it is born and she thinks for
sure it will have curly hair. I hope so! :) I think a curly headed
baby would be SO cute! I got an email from Alyson this morning and
she sent me a song that she said made her think of me. Her email says:

Sarah, I listened to this song today and thought about you...I think
it's a girl!

I hope you're doing well!

alyson*

She and Maddie aren't the only one that thinks it will be a girl.
Jason is a strong believer that it will be a girl. He thinks since
Brit is more of a girlie girl and she had a boy and I am not so much a
girlie girl so I will have a girl. I was counting up last night.
Someone told me that we won't get to find out until 20 weeks. So that
make 14 weeks to go till we find out what the little nugget is :)
Can't wait!

Poppy Seed's New Shoes

The other day Britney and I ran into a little consignment shop and I
found these shoes. I had to buy them! Aren't they adorable. I am
pretty sure they are hand made by someone. :)

Week 6

We got a sweet card in the mail from the Weber's! Thanks guys! It has been a great week. I am still feeling good and hope to stay that way :) I had a really busy weekend this past weekend. Saturday, Brit and I went to a friends baby shower then I went and photographed a 4mth old baby and after that shot an 8 hour wedding. I was exhausted when I got home at 11. Taylor was home and had done all of the laundry. He is the best! Cissy you raised him well :) Sunday when I woke up he took me to breakfast at Ihop. We haven't eaten there in a really long time. Probably since college :) It was pretty good. After we got home I headed out for my 2 engagement session. While I was gone Taylor moved all of the fire wood to the back deck, cleaned out the ponds and blew all of the leaves off the roof and in the yard. It looks so much better around here. Thanks Tay for all of your help around the house this weekend! Today we got our 6week email from baby center. Here is what Poppy Seed is doing this week. How your baby's growing: This week's major developments: The nose, mouth, and ears that you'll spend so much time kissing in eight months are beginning to take shape. If you could see into your uterus, you'd find an oversize head and dark spots where your baby's eyes and nostrils are starting to form. His emerging ears are marked by small depressions on the sides of the head, and his arms and legs by protruding buds. His heart is beating about 100 to 160 times a minute — almost twice as fast as yours — and blood is beginning to course through his body. His intestines are developing, and the bud of tissue that will give rise to his lungs has appeared. His pituitary gland is forming, as are the rest of his brain, muscles, and bones. Right now, your baby is a quarter of an inch long, about the size of a lentil bean. - Sarah

Week 5

I have been feeling pretty good. I have been cramping a bit and have been a little tired but that is about it. I will be seeing Dr. Lei every week for my first trimester. I was having really bad back pains last Friday and she totally got rid of them. Woo HOO! You rock Dr. Lei! I worked an 8 hour wedding Saturday and felt great. We signed up for baby center and it was so fun getting the email about our baby today. I wanted to share what Poppy Seed is doing this week. Your pregnancy: 5 weeks How your baby's growing: Deep in your uterus your embryo is growing at a furious pace. At this point, he's about the size of a sesame seed, and he looks more like a tiny tadpole than a human. He's now made up of three layers — the ectoderm, the mesoderm, and the endoderm — which will later form all of his organs and tissues. The neural tube — from which your baby's brain, spinal cord, nerves, and backbone will sprout — is starting to develop in the top layer, called the ectoderm. This layer will also give rise to his skin, hair, nails, mammary and sweat glands, and tooth enamel. His heart and circulatory system begin to form in the middle layer, or mesoderm. (This week, in fact, his tiny heart begins to divide into chambers and beat and pump blood.) The mesoderm will also form your baby's muscles, cartilage, bone, and subcutaneous (under skin) tissue. The third layer, or endoderm, will house his lungs, intestines, and rudimentary urinary system, as well as his thyroid, liver, and pancreas. In the meantime, the primitive placenta and umbilical cord, which deliver nourishment and oxygen to your baby, are already on the job. Ah it is just so amazing. I still can't believe we are going to have a sweet little baby in July :) -Sarah

Dr. Lei

We started trying to have a baby back in January. In August my Doctor wanted to put me on clomid. We were not ready for that. I just didn't want to start putting all of those chemicals in my body. I found out about this book "The Infertility Cure". The author/doctor talks about Chinese medicine and acupuncture. I decided why not give it a try. So I called Dr. Lei and we got started. She is amazing! She was an OBGYN in China and came to the States I think about 15 years ago. She treats 10-15 infertility clients a week. Isn't that amazing. When Ashley Judd was in town she worked on her. Probably not for fertility but you never know :) She began working on my stress and many other things. I began taking all the herbs she prescribed. After the first month I could totally tell a difference. I felt so good and was just so chill. Work was not stressing me out which this time of year I am usually pulling my hair out. We started on my second month and sure enough I find out I am pregnant. I would tell anyone who is having problems not only with fertility but pains of any sort to think about acupuncture. It really has worked wonders on me. I feel so revived when I am finished with each session. Thank you, thank you Dr. Lei for helping us. -Sarah

Just a few Friends

We decided to tell a few of our friends and family. Everyone is so excited. Jayna and Matthew are due exactly a month before we are. How fun is that! I scheduled my first appointment which is Dec. 12. I will be a little over 9 weeks. We are so ready for that first appointment. I think it all will seem more real then. They told us that our due date is July 16th. WOO HOO summer baby. Poppy Seed will come right in between Taylor and my birthday. -Sarah

We are Pregnant! 4 weeks

OMG!!!! Tonight I have been sitting at the kitchen table working on my computer and watching some of my shows that I had Tivo. Taylor is in Texarkana at a seminar. I decided to take a pregnancy test just a few days early. My plan was to take one on Friday. I was about to toss it in the trash when I began to see a faint second line. HOLY COW! Am I really seeing this? It began to get darker and darker. I ran shaking and in tears to the phone. Could this FINALLY be true? Crap I couldn't call Taylor and tell him over the phone. Plus he was in the car by now with 2 other people and I know for sure he would have me on speaker phone :) I had to call Britney. Jason answers the phone. I say in a quivery voice, "Is Brit awake?" He says "No but I can wake her up. Is everything okay?" "Yes!" I reply "You're prego, aren't you!" he responds. "No just get Brit on the phone" I said back. I ended up going down to their house so they could see the stick and tell me for sure if I was or wasn't seeing things. Britney had already pulled out some books for me to take home and read. I couldn't wait for Taylor to get home. I decided to wrap the pregnancy test up and have him open the wonderful little gift :) We are SO excited and can't wait to tell everyone when the time is right! For know you guys are the only ones we are letting in on our little secret! We decided to name it Poppy Seed Adams until we know what we are having. -Sarah
