Poppy Seed

We have been busy trying to get Burke to gain weight as well as get rid of this jaundice. He is not big on the doctor but I think that is because they are always stripping him down and it is freezing in there and pricking his little foot to check his billirubin. Today we were sent home but his billirubin is up again. I am not real sure the labs were checked right at the hospital. Dr. Martin said it would surprise her if he dropped from a 17 to an 8 in 24 hours. His lab today came back as a 12. Poo! I am so ready to be done with this. We head back on Friday for another weight check and prick. - Sarah

We were not happy when we took Burke in to see Dr. Martin and she told us we had to go back to the hospital. I will be honest. I totally had a melt down in the doctors office. I didn't want to take my baby back to the hospital. We had been home for 2 days and were getting settled in with our new bundle of joy. I have been very emotional with Mamie's birthday right around the corner plus just the hormones alone. We headed home and got packed up. When we walked into our room at the hospital I was totally relieved to see his little tanning bed was right next to my bed. They had told us that he would be in the nursery and they would bring him to me to nurse. Before long he was snoozing under the lights and Taylor and I were trying to get some rest.
