Christmas Eve- Visting Mamies Special Spot

This afternoon before we went to church we took flowers down to Mamie's special spot.  It was a beautiful afternoon to go visit.  Taylor picked up the most beautiful pink flowers just for his special girl.  When we got there we saw that someone had left her a Christmas card.  We were not surprised when we flipped it over to see that Silas had drawn Mamie a picture.  It makes us feel good to know she isn't forgotten.  We also took a pink rose over to our friends sweet baby Mary Madison's special spot that is right by Mamie's.

We miss Mamie so much.  It is especially hard this time of year but we know she is in a much better place.  I know they will be having a big party in Heaven tomorrow for Jesus' birthday!

Introducing Mamie's Poppy Plates

As you all know, I am Mamie's mom, and Mamie was my first child. I was pregnant with her from October 2008 to June 25th, 2009 when she was born a sleeping angel (stillborn) two and a half weeks before her due date. Stillbirth and infant death are realities that too many parents face even today. Did you know that each year 1 in 115 babies delivered is stillborn? And 1 in every 102 newborns die before the age of 28 days old? Now, a year after losing Mamie, I have started Mamie's Poppy Plates, my organization providing keepsakes for parents who are not able to take their babies home from the hospital. Because handprints and footprints are something that we cherish as parents of children in Heaven or here on this earth, I wanted to find a beautiful way to preserve such a precious reminder of our babies. Your donation of $13 will provide a plate to bereaved families who are delivering at St. Vincent Hospital. Their baby’s birth stats, hand and footprints will be stampe...

VBS

Burke and Winnie just finished their first Vacation Bible School and they had a blast.  I did as well :)  I got to help in Burkes class which is always really interesting.  There were about 20 3yr olds in there so it was WILD :)  It was a fun 3 days of learning about how God is our light.  We sang "This little light of mine" everyday and Winnie is trying so hard to sing it.  She walks around the house with her little pointer finger up mumbling.  I love it. - Sarah Winnie eating the stickers instead of putting them on her art piece :)
