Happy 3rd Birthday Mamie!

Today was a pretty good day.  Way didn't do much but stay in the house and stay cool.   I can't believe how hot it was today.  As you all know we had the big race this past Saturday and man was that amazing.  I will be posting soon about that along with pictures.  We took Burke twice this weekend down to visit Mamie's grave.  The first time was the morning before the race.  We wanted to have some quiet family time with her.  We went again yesterday with our good friends Ashley, Dustin and their little one Alivia.  Crazy enough we went to the zoo afterwards.  Burke loved seeing all the animals but he really enjoyed running through the water with his momma :)  So back to today, Taylor came home with dinner, wine, beautiful pink flowers and hot pink balloons.  The three of us had a nice dinner and then we went outside on the deck so Burke could send his sister some balloons for her birthday.  I had told Taylor about Burke and I sitting in the hall today playing.  He was being so snuggly today.  I think he knew I was sad.  He crawled in my lap and wrapped his little arms around my neck.  I said "Burke where is Mamie?"  He pointed up at her pictures hanging in the hall with his sweet little hand.  I about lost it.  How cool was that!  Later tonight Taylor had him in his arms walking down the hall.  He said, "Burkie where is Mamie?" and Burke began pointing again at her pictures.  Taylor started yelling for me to come see that he was doing it again.  Pretty cool!  Anyway I have so pictures to share with you guys from the cemetery, zoo and our family balloon release tonight.

Happy Birthday Mamie!  We love you so so soooooo much sweet girl.

  2. Hi there, I stumbled upon your blog from another BLM blog. I am so sorry for your loss. My little girl, Lily, was stillborn at fullterm on March 16, 2010. Her middle name is Katherine too! :) And as Anne of Green Gables says, "A Katherine with a "K" is so much more alluring than a Catherine with a "C." A C always looks so smug." ;) Happy 3rd Heavenly Birthday to your sweet girl. She is so beautiful. I love her headstone! I still haven't picked out one for my Lily (haven't been able to afford it sadly.) I think it's so thoughtful and amazing that you will be buried with her. My grandmother lost a baby named Rachel at 3 months old back in 1965 and she got a headstone bench for Rachel, herself and her husband. I want to be buried right next to my girl too. Much love and hugs, Hannah Rose (www.roseandherlily.com)

Burke is 3!!!!!

Okay I have decided that time is going by way too fast.  Burke just turned 3 the beginning of June!  I can not believe it.  I feel like just yesterday I was in the hospital having the little guy!  We had a fun small family party and he is loving some super hero's right now so that was the theme :)  Silas really wanted to jump out when he walked in and yell surprise so that is what we did :)  Burke is super shy and he really wasn't a fan of it all.  Pibby and Pops got him his first bike and it is SO cute.   I picked up a balloon for all the kids and one special spider man one for Boo.  He has always loved balloons.  He said the sweetest thing....... he wanted to let his balloons go up to Mamie so she would know that it was his birthday.  I couldn't believe he let his special Spider Man one go.  It made me want to cry.  She should be here with us.  ANYWAYS, it was a fun day and I got some pictures of course and a few videos.  Happy 3rd Birthday Burkie BOO!  We love you so so

Baby Burke- Please Pray

Taylor and I went in for our big ultrasound this morning. I am 18 weeks along now, so they were checking out our baby boy closely. They found 2 genetic markers that caused a red flag. One cyst on the brain and his kidneys are enlarged. We need lots of prayers right now. Prayers for these markers to disappear and for our baby boy to be healthy. We also need prayers for our sanity as we wait, hope and pray. We will go back for another ultrasound in 8 weeks (March 31). We were told not to look this up on the internet and would appreciate only positive comments on this situation. God is good and we are leaving it in His hands. Thanks for your prayers, Sarah

NO FEAR!!!

I took the kids to the park this afternoon once the sun came out.  It was so beautiful and we love Woodlands Edge park.  Lots of trees, green space to run and Slides:) Winnie is small but that girl is mighty.  She has NO FEAR when it comes to the slides.  Which is totally different for me since Burke has always been so cautious.  I love days like this.  Feeling very blessed! - Sarah
