I was having kind of a sad day this past Friday after hearing of another mother that lost her sweet baby. She had been induced and was waiting to deliver. It really hit me hard thinking of she and her husband waiting at the hospital to deliver their first baby and that baby not being alive. I know I have said this over and over again but it just isn't fair. It seems to be happening way too often and it makes my heart hurt so badly.
Taylor came in after work with a package that had just been delivered. I laughed when I picked the large box up and saw the name Kate Harrison on it. The thing felt completely empty. I thought.... what in the world. She must have forgotten to put whatever it was she wanted to send me in the box. I dug through the box and found a small round container and inside was a necklace with Burke and Mamie's name on it. I almost bust into tears. This gift couldn't have come on a better day. It was so perfect and so beautiful. The note read.
Sweet Sarah,
We love you so! We are so happy for you and your family and cannot wait to meet Burke. When can we do that?!? Please give him a squeeze :)
Love, Tania and Kate
Ah I love those girls! What a special gift from two special friends. Thanks girls for the beautiful necklace. I will cherish it forever.
Oh also on the outside of the envelop it said P.S. This is one giant box! I had to laugh out loud.
Okay I have decided that time is going by way too fast. Burke just turned 3 the beginning of June! I can not believe it. I feel like just yesterday I was in the hospital having the little guy! We had a fun small family party and he is loving some super hero's right now so that was the theme :) Silas really wanted to jump out when he walked in and yell surprise so that is what we did :) Burke is super shy and he really wasn't a fan of it all. Pibby and Pops got him his first bike and it is SO cute. I picked up a balloon for all the kids and one special spider man one for Boo. He has always loved balloons. He said the sweetest thing....... he wanted to let his balloons go up to Mamie so she would know that it was his birthday. I couldn't believe he let his special Spider Man one go. It made me want to cry. She should be here with us. ANYWAYS, it was a fun day and I got some pictures of course and a few videos. Happy 3rd Birthday Burkie BOO! We love you so so
Love this picture!
ReplyDeleteSarah-
ReplyDeleteI think I was that Mom you spoke about in your blog. I delivered my sleeping angel Evie at St. Vincent on Saturday after being induced on Friday. Your story has given me such strength. I have a Poppy Plate for Evie and so far 4 have been donated in her name. Thanks for such a great charity and for sharing your story for the rest of us who must endure this heartbreak. Congratulations on your sweet baby boy. I know that Mamie is looking down on your precious family with such love and joy.
