Christmas 2011

I am a little late on a lot of these post but oh well :)  Christmas this year was great.  My family we had Christmas before Jason and Britney headed off to Wisconsin.  Burke got a prayer time board book and a baby bible board book too.  I was really hoping for those.  One thing that I loved is that my family made a donation to Mamie's Poppy Plates in Mamie's memory.  That meant a lot opening a gift to Mamie and just knowing they haven't forgotten.

On Christmas morning Taylor and I got up and had a nice breakfast before Burkie work up.  Santa brought him a rocking frog that plays music.  He was pretty interested in it but really liked the wrapping paper much better.  I was super pumped about my gift.  I got a Ninja :)  for those of you that don't know about the Ninja go check it out.  I have found someway to use that thing pretty much everyday in the kitchen.  It is super awesome for making baby food.

We went to Hot Springs to have Christmas with Taylor's family later that day.  We had a huge dinner and then opened presents.  Burke got some books, a cute onsie and a few toys.  Just what he needed.  A few things really go a long way :)

This is the ornament Meredith and Patrick sent us for Mamie.  I love it and will always look at it and think of their sweet Miller and Mamie being in heaven together.

Every year Taylor gets me ornaments.  For those of you that don't know me.  I LOVE ornaments and I like to put the name of the person who gave it to me as well as the year  on it.  It is so fun every year to hang them and remember back at who gave them to me.  Anyway we decided this year we would do one for Burke and one for Mamie.  Aren't they adorable :)

This cross ornament is what we got at the Journey memorial service that we go to every November.  I will be blogging pics from that hopefully soon.  I thought it looked perfect hanging on Mamie's book that a friend made us.

Here is the Ninja!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On our ride to Hot Springs I thought a lot about Mamie but also all the other babies that have passed.  This Christmas was Meredith and Patrick's first Christmas without little Miller.  It hurt my heart to think about how they were feeling.  When I looked up at the sky I saw this M in the clouds.  I had to send it to Meredith.  It was perfect.  Mamie and Miller were sending me a sign and I had to share it with her.

Cooper, Hayden, Jackson and Brayden put on a show for us before we opened gifts.  They sang, danced and rocked out on their guitar.

Burke was so tired on the way home.  When I opened the car door this is how I found him.  Is that not hilarious.

Baby Burke- Please Pray

Taylor and I went in for our big ultrasound this morning. I am 18 weeks along now, so they were checking out our baby boy closely. They found 2 genetic markers that caused a red flag. One cyst on the brain and his kidneys are enlarged. We need lots of prayers right now. Prayers for these markers to disappear and for our baby boy to be healthy. We also need prayers for our sanity as we wait, hope and pray. We will go back for another ultrasound in 8 weeks (March 31). We were told not to look this up on the internet and would appreciate only positive comments on this situation. God is good and we are leaving it in His hands. Thanks for your prayers, Sarah

Introducing Mamie's Poppy Plates

As you all know, I am Mamie's mom, and Mamie was my first child. I was pregnant with her from October 2008 to June 25th, 2009 when she was born a sleeping angel (stillborn) two and a half weeks before her due date. Stillbirth and infant death are realities that too many parents face even today. Did you know that each year 1 in 115 babies delivered is stillborn? And 1 in every 102 newborns die before the age of 28 days old? Now, a year after losing Mamie, I have started Mamie's Poppy Plates, my organization providing keepsakes for parents who are not able to take their babies home from the hospital. Because handprints and footprints are something that we cherish as parents of children in Heaven or here on this earth, I wanted to find a beautiful way to preserve such a precious reminder of our babies. Your donation of $13 will provide a plate to bereaved families who are delivering at St. Vincent Hospital. Their baby’s birth stats, hand and footprints will be stampe

Burke 24 weeks and update on doctor's visit

We had our big ultrasound the other week and I have been meaning to update you all. Sorry for the delay. First off I did pass my glucose test which is great news. To celebrate Taylor bought me a big snickers :) ha! just what I needed after drinking pure sugar water all morning on an empty stomach. I did have a total melt down at Cornerstone that morning. After drinking the sugar water I figured Burke would be bouncing around in my belly. I couldn't get him to move at all. I can't even begin to tell you all how scared I was. I rushed back to my nurse in tears begging for them to get the doppler out. Within seconds I was on the table as they rubbed the doppler across by belly. I was a total wreck. I just keep thinking in my head "I have lost another baby!" The nurse quickly found his heartbeat and everything looked and sounded great. I was SO relieved but couldn't pull it together. I wanted to curl up in a ball and cry my heart out. Why? Why did I ha
