Good Morning

Good morning everyone,
I feel like today is going to be a very good day. I am up having my cup of coffee and my quiet time. The snow is still covering all the trees and ground outside and I can't believe how many beautiful Cardinals I have seen. Come to think of it we rarely ever saw Cardinals till Mamie died. Now we see them everywhere. I looked up the symbolism of a Cardinal and this is what I found.

Animal Symbolism of the Cardinal

The symbolic meaning of cardinals deals with vibrancy and brilliance.

As we observe the cardinal – particularly against the backdrop of the stark winter months, we are reminded that even when things appear bleak or isolated, there is always the presence of beauty, hope, and love.

Cardinals encourage us to express our brilliance and reveal our truest selves. Their radiant red is a symbol for us to recognize the gifts in our hearts that we have to give to others in love and friendship.

Pretty cool right :) They really are so beautiful and amazing to watch. I believe this is just another sign sent to Taylor and I from Mamie. A sign that she is okay and that her baby brother is going to be okay.

We have received so many positive emails and stories for people all over that have run into the same issue with soft markers in their growing baby. I can't tell you how good it makes us feel to hear from you all.

Lets all raise our coffee's this morning to a good day :)

Cheers-

Sarah

  1. Hello Sarah,
I seen your blog on another blog I follow called kellys korner. I just wanted to let you know that I am so sorry for your loss of your little precious baby girl. I also checked out your page for Poppy Plates and what you are doing is simply amazing! I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks, and we named our precious baby poppy as well. Just seeing poppies reminds me of that memorable time in our lives, even if it was cut so short.
I want you to know that I am praying for you during your journey with your new little one. Let God keep your spirits up and continue to walk with you along the way!

  2. Hello, just wanted to let you know I am praying for your little boy. Our second son had one, possibly two, choroid plexus cysts on his brain at the 20 week ultrasound. The 4 weeks between that appointment and our level II ultrasound was the worst period of my life but thankfully, four weeks later, the cysts could no longer be detected! I hope you will cling to your faith and know that in many circumstances, these cysts are just part of normal fetal development. Still, it was not statistics that got me through such an uncertain time but rather knowing that God is the One in control.

Introducing Mamie's Poppy Plates

As you all know, I am Mamie's mom, and Mamie was my first child. I was pregnant with her from October 2008 to June 25th, 2009 when she was born a sleeping angel (stillborn) two and a half weeks before her due date. Stillbirth and infant death are realities that too many parents face even today. Did you know that each year 1 in 115 babies delivered is stillborn? And 1 in every 102 newborns die before the age of 28 days old? Now, a year after losing Mamie, I have started Mamie's Poppy Plates, my organization providing keepsakes for parents who are not able to take their babies home from the hospital. Because handprints and footprints are something that we cherish as parents of children in Heaven or here on this earth, I wanted to find a beautiful way to preserve such a precious reminder of our babies. Your donation of $13 will provide a plate to bereaved families who are delivering at St. Vincent Hospital. Their baby’s birth stats, hand and footprints will be stampe...

VBS

Burke and Winnie just finished their first Vacation Bible School and they had a blast.  I did as well :)  I got to help in Burkes class which is always really interesting.  There were about 20 3yr olds in there so it was WILD :)  It was a fun 3 days of learning about how God is our light.  We sang "This little light of mine" everyday and Winnie is trying so hard to sing it.  She walks around the house with her little pointer finger up mumbling.  I love it. - Sarah Winnie eating the stickers instead of putting them on her art piece :)
