Mamie's Celebration Dinner

Taylor and I spent Mamie's year weekend over in Hot Springs. We wanted to spend time together just the two of us. We stayed at the Arlington thanks to our good friends Ashley and Dustin, and we ate yummy food thanks to Patrick, Meredith, Britney, Jason, Mom and Dad. We are so thankful for the love and thoughtfulness people have shown us throughout this whole past year.

That Sunday we had close friends and family come over for a birthday celebration in honor of Mamie. It was perfect. Britney and I made flower arrangements out of herbs from our garden and bright colored zinnia's. We wanted it to be simple but sweet. Jacquelyn and Jeremy from Palette Catering helped us out with the food and it was AMAZING. For the cake I wanted it to be simple with poppy flowers on it. D. from our church did exactly what I wanted and I can't wait for yall to see the pics. She put my Mamie tattoo on top and it was just perfect. We also ordered 40 balloons and after Taylor said a little speech for the both of us, I was way too emotional to talk, we all released the balloons again for Mamie. The whole night was full of laughter, love and memories. Just the way we wanted it to be. We wanted to celebrate Mamie and that is just what we did. Amanda was so sweet to snap some pictures for me. Thanks girlie and thanks to everyone that helped out with the party.

  8. Sarah,
All I can say is....amazing! I am so moved and inspired everytime I read your blog. I have often prayed for you and Taylor and will continue to do so. You left an impression on me when we met at Journey in January that i have not forgotten. It has been 8 1/2 months since losing our son Brodie and some days the pain is just as fresh as the day he died. This road we are on as bereaved moms is truly a difficult one. I often feel like we're in a club that you really wish yourself or others weren't members of. I know Mamie had a happy and blessed birthday in heaven. And,I pray for continued peace for you and Taylor.

Baby Burke- Please Pray

Taylor and I went in for our big ultrasound this morning. I am 18 weeks along now, so they were checking out our baby boy closely. They found 2 genetic markers that caused a red flag. One cyst on the brain and his kidneys are enlarged. We need lots of prayers right now. Prayers for these markers to disappear and for our baby boy to be healthy. We also need prayers for our sanity as we wait, hope and pray. We will go back for another ultrasound in 8 weeks (March 31). We were told not to look this up on the internet and would appreciate only positive comments on this situation. God is good and we are leaving it in His hands. Thanks for your prayers, Sarah

Burke is 3!!!!!

Okay I have decided that time is going by way too fast.  Burke just turned 3 the beginning of June!  I can not believe it.  I feel like just yesterday I was in the hospital having the little guy!  We had a fun small family party and he is loving some super hero's right now so that was the theme :)  Silas really wanted to jump out when he walked in and yell surprise so that is what we did :)  Burke is super shy and he really wasn't a fan of it all.  Pibby and Pops got him his first bike and it is SO cute.   I picked up a balloon for all the kids and one special spider man one for Boo.  He has always loved balloons.  He said the sweetest thing....... he wanted to let his balloons go up to Mamie so she would know that it was his birthday.  I couldn't believe he let his special Spider Man one go.  It made me want to cry.  She should be here with us.  ANYWAYS, it was a fun day and I got some pictures of course and a few videos.  Happy 3rd Birthday Burkie BOO!  We love you so so

We are having a BOY!

Sorry for the delay on announcing the sex of our little Olive. We found out last week that we are having a baby boy and we are SO excited. We would have been excited either way we just want a healthy and happy baby here on earth with us. We already have a name for our sweet little guy. His full name will be Burke Kenneth Adams. Burke (what we will call him) is my mother's maiden name and we have planned to use it since the first day we started talking about babies. Kenneth is after Taylor's dad and that is also Taylor's first name. I wasn't prepared for the crazy emotions I had after finding out the sex. I wasn't sad at all because it was a boy I would have been the same way if it was a girl. It has just been a very emotional roller coaster. I have kind of kept myself separated from this baby. I just don't want my heart to get hurt again. The feelings are SO hard to explain. You mothers out there that are reading this that have lost and then had a
