Spring Cleaning in the Garden

We have spent the past 2 days working out in Mamie's garden getting it all ready for the Spring blooms that will be happening before long.  We had 10 yrs of mulch delivered yesterday. Thankfully Marvin, the awesome yard guy that does a lot of work in our neighborhood was around to help me.  With it being Friday Taylor was at work and I only had a few times in between naps to get out there and spread mulch.  Over the weekend Burke was a big helper and today he has been doing the same.  He and Taylor have been driving back and forth to the nursery to get..... yes MORE mulch so we can finish up.  We put a little in the back of his dump truck and he drives it over and dumps it where I ask him to.  He cracks me up.  So sweet!!!  Mamie's chime has been making its beautiful sounds all day which I love.  I know she is happy to see us all together working on something so special to all of us. First thing this morning I turned on Mercy Me pandora s...

You are my sunshine

Today was a really nice day.  The weather has been completely bonkers lately.  One day it is in the 70s and the next there is snow on the yard when we wake up.   But today was nice and that made me happy.  We have been up the past couple of night.  Burke has been having his coughing fits and asthma attacks.  They totally stress me out when it comes to the night time.  Taylor was out of town so I just put Burke in my bed so I could keep my eye on him.  My eyes were on him for sure.  I think I slept a hour both nights.  Poor little guy was coughing and whimpering the whole night.  One night after he did finally calm down and go to sleep sure enough Winnie woke up screaming.  I was up with her for about an hour.  Anyway back to today.  Burke woke us up as usual.  Taylor had made it in around mid night from his work trip and we had been up taking Burke back and forth to his bed after we moved him when Taylor got...

A sign to start blogging again

I have totally been slacking on the blog here but things have been a bit busy around my house ;) to say the least. Winnie turned 1 just the other week and we had a sweet little family party for her.  She loved her cake but I am pretty sure Abe and Burke loved it even more :) she is growing up so fast.  About a month ago she decided to take her first steps to her favorite person Uncle J.  We thought for sure she would be walking by her first birthday but she hasn't totally decided to take the plunge!  She is super fast on her knees so that is where she has stayed.  :) One of her new things is to point and say "dat"!  She wants to show us everything that she sees.  I took her to the doctor the other day.  I laughed when the doctor came in and she started pointing at every thing.  She was as sick as a dog but still happy.  He was really impressed saying that most babies don't start doing that till they are 14-15 months.  :) The...

Date Weekend

Taylor and I went to LA last weekend without the kids. We had so much fun and enjoyed having some adult time. Friday night we went to the Passion Pit concert. For those of you that don't know who Passion Pit is go check them out. They are awesome!  Saturday we totally did the tourist thing and road around on a double decker bus. It was awesome;). You could hop on and off whenever. We got off in Santa Monica. We walked out on the pier and road the Ferris wheel them messed around before we ate at this AMAZiNG sushi restaurant. Oh my goodness my mouth is watering just writing about it. Saturday night we for dressed up and went to eat at the original Spago's. Man was that good. It was a great weekend but we were ready to get back to our babies. ;) -Sarah

Life is good!

I always said I would keep up with this blog but Mamie, Burke and Winnie are keeping their momma very busy these days. Winnie is now 8mths old. I took she and Burke in for their flu shots and Winnie's check up yesterday. They were so good as usual for the doctor. Burke sat on the table and rolled his tongue around in his mouth and looked at the doctor with his shy little face.  Pibby held Winnie naked in her brothers diaper (momma forgot to bring her one) kicked and waved and grinned at the doctor. She is such a mess and I don't think will be at all shy like her brother. Winnie got a great check up. She is in the 25th percentile for length and the 5-10th for weight.  Big girl weighs 14.9 lbs. ;). These past couple of months she has changed so much.  6 mths she got her first bottom tooth. Soon after the second one came in. 7mths she was sitting up and now at 8mths she is on the move crawling but really wants to walk. We keep telling her to slow down but she is so...

Halloween

What a fun Halloween we had this year. Burke totally got it and was excited to go trick or treating. We even practiced at home;). Burke was the strawberry farmer and Winnie was his strawberry. They were so cute. It rained all day but the sun came out and it cooled off just in time for our neighborhood Halloweenie roast and the hay ride. It was a great night.  -Sarah

Catching up

The past couple of weeks have really been great with Winnie and Burke. Everyday I am reminded how blessed I am to have all three of my precious babies. A few weeks back Burke decided he was going to crawl out of his baby bed. It was pretty interesting and yet a little bit scary. With slate floors we worried that he might fall and break something. The little booger was doing this with his sleep sac on. He is a master escape artist. We decided it was time to just play it safe and get him a big boy bed. Thank you Amanda for hooking us up with the adorable twin bed. The same week he also decided he wanted to use the potty. We were all for this. It just was a lot of change in one week. Fast forward to today we are still working on the potty training. He is really getting the hang of it. The big boy bed took some adjusting. By adjusting I mean at times him screaming at the door saying " I don't likey" to sneaking out of his room and sleeping on the hall floor. Oh and one ti...
